Apr 9, 2012 - Listen to this, in Mexico there is a very similar pine to the white pine; similar colour, big pine cones (about 30 cm), same number of needles (5 needles). Once upon a time I heard that the Mexican pines are descendants of the Canadian pines
Mar 10, 2012 - I´ve heard that we have here in Canary Islands the only pine tree that only has 3 leafs per cluster, which is interesting, maybe it has to do something with the rich soil of volcanic islands.
Feb 18, 2012 - Great Video! Gonna be up in northern Canada in the summer, looking forward to it.
Video Details
This video demonstrates the basics of identifying three common, native pine trees of Eastern North America, White, Red and Jack Pine. The non-native Scots pine is included as it can be confused with Jack Pine. Filmed in the Shaw Woods, http://shawwoods.ca More
